Helping Seniors Age With Confidence
Age With Autonomy platform helps seniors understand their health, communicate their needs, and protect themselves from health-related frauds.

About Me
I'm Zerah Davis
I'm a passionate student who enjoys working with seniors, conducts research on biomedical solutions, and created Geri-Check, a resource to help older adults stay informed and independent. My passion for geriatric healthcare started personal. I wanted to help my grandparents age with real autonomy and not just be stuck depending on constant medical intervention and help from others. As I went volunteering at senior homes, I watched seniors lose their independence not because of their health alone, but because they weren't getting the support and information they needed to navigate it. I realized this issue doesn't apply just to my family, but it's about a whole generation that deserves better treatment and overall care. Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending my time with creativity. Doing activities such as, music, art, and anything that lets me think differently. What really drives and motivates me is seeing someone regain their autonomy after they thought they couldn't. That's why I decided to become committed to geriatrics. I want to build a career where I'm helping seniors age on their own terms, with dignity and independence, not by depending on a system that doesn't always make an effort for them.

Mission
Independence Should Not Disappear With Age!
My mission is to help seniors stay informed and independent by giving them the tools to advocate for themselves.

Founder & Builder
Founder & Lead Developer — Geri-Check
Co-Founder & Director — Hands4Hope
Created Geri-Check, a free health-accessibility app designed specifically for older adults.
The app helps seniors:
-
Track hydration
-
Recognize atypical UTI symptoms
-
Communicate health concerns
-
Identify possible Medicare billing fraud
-
Use health tools more easily through large buttons, high-contrast displays, and voice-friendly features
Geri-Check combines my interests in medicine, technology, accessibility, and senior advocacy.
Co-founded Hands4Hope to support clean-water projects.
Our team initially struggled to gain traction through online sales, so we changed our approach and began connecting directly with our community through local pop-up events.
I spent more than 300 hours creating handmade crafts, and together we raised more than $1,200 for global clean-water initiatives.
Hands4Hope taught me an important lesson: good intentions are not enough. To create impact, you have to listen, adapt, and keep finding better ways to serve.

Leadership

Research
Building Better Health Technology
Conducted undergraduate research at the IEMR Lab in the University of North Texas Chemistry Department.
My work focuses on ultra-thin 2–5 nanometer coatings and their potential biomedical applications.
These coatings can support smaller, safer, and less invasive sensors and diagnostic devices—technology that may be especially valuable for older adults managing chronic conditions.
I am also co-authoring a forthcoming research paper based on this work.

SYMRA Project
Bloom Balance: Helping Patients Be Heard
Medical dismissal affects everyone. Women with endometriosis wait 7–10 years for diagnosis because symptoms are dismissed. Older adults face the same barrier such as pain attributed to aging, symptoms underestimated, voices unheard.
The Bloom Balance solves this with objective data. Heart rate monitoring, temperature tracking, and pain documentation give patients concrete evidence to bring to their doctors. Whether they're navigating reproductive health or managing chronic illness in later life.
The core principle: patient advocacy works best when patients have proof.
This project shaped how I approach medicine. Every patient—regardless of age or condition—deserves to be heard.
